Country House, Moscow

Moscow, Russia
A perfect escape may not exist, but this spacious countryside residence in Papushevo near Moscow comes pretty close. Designed by Russian architecture studio Kamen, the house serves as a second home for a three-generations-family.
An extensive use of natural materials underscores the architect’s notion of living comfortably and close to nature. Throughout the interior, wood takes center stage. Massive cedar logs are used for the wooden house’s architecture while a handcrafted wooden floor enhances a feeling of warmth, liveliness and intimacy.
Ebony and Co’s Continental Ash Faded Iceberg Hardwax finish dots the floor, using random widths ranging from 18cm up to 31 cm. ‘We liked the vivid and noble character of this wood selection,’ the designers comment on their choice.
